View Full Version : Car dies when in neutral

doesnt happen all the time but when i come to a stop and i put my 93 s13 in neutral the rpms drop almost all the way down and sometimes it dies. whenever im flying through twisty roads and put it in neutral the car will die sometimes and the steering locks up. HELP ME before i hit a tree

My car did this when I first bought it.  I just adjusted the idle so it idled a little faster while sitting still and where it started to die normally it would kick back up and idle faster.  If this

doesn't make any since to you let me know I'll try to explain it a little better.  I basically Jimmy rigged it.

This almost happens to me, except mine doesn't quite die. I've heard a range of solutions to this; anything from cleaning your MAFS to clogged 02 sensors to changing your air filter to it being a faulty (dirty) valve somewhere in the exhaust system...  
I'll be doing a regular tune up (rotors plugs wires distributor and fuel filter) in the next few days in hopes of it solving my poor gas mileage and fluctuating Idle issues.

This is a very common issue with the S13's it appears. &nbsp;I have this problem as well, and have seen this particular questions tons of times. &nbsp;I'm sure a search would supply you with endless ideas.
