I have a 97 240 and I got a a/c compressor from a shop saying that it was for a s14. I get home go under the car and bolt it up and as i try to put the hardlines on it doesnt fit, my fittings on the hardline is bigger then the ones on the compressor.
so im thinking if the lines are diffrent between the zenki and the kouki or did they give me one from a s13???

Based on what Russ told me, if I remember correctly, there is one version for S13 SOHC KA, 2 versions for S13 DOHC, and only 1 version for S14 KA.

If you can get him to comment he will have the most accurate info.

S14 zenki and kouki is probably different cuz I tried to help a buddy of mine who had a zenki, and gave him my kouki lines. He said they wouldnt work with his zenki compressor.

There are numerous different compressors for the KA, as listed below:

89-90 KA24E
91-mid93 KA24DE
late93-94 KA24DE
95 KA24DE
96 KA24DE
97-98 KA24DE

Obviously the SOHC is not compatible with anything else. The S13 DOHC compressors use the same lines and fittings, but the later models are R134a and the bracket is slightly different, two bolts line up for the compressor, enough to work.
For the S14s, not only the compressors but the lines and condensor all changed as well. The 96-up uses larger opening on the compressor than the 95 models, but 97-98s use studs threaded into the compressor to secure the lines instead of bolts. The low pressure line and evaporator changed with each model as well, so you can either buy a complete A/C assembly to match what parts you currently have or cut/weld the line ends to match up.

I just put a new front end on a 98 model and had to use a 95 condensor I had laying around, that required taking the 98 high pressure hose and the drier line and cutting the flanges off and welding the early 95 flanges back on to work. It's aluminum too, so find a competent welder if you go that route.
