I was thinking about getting the Profec B Spec II boost controller for my Redtop powered 240. I was wondering if that would be sufficient enough for a boost gauge or should I get an external one? Also it this boost controller efficient or should I look for something else? It's not too expensive so I think it would be perfect. Thanks for the help. I was going to mount it right above my gauge pod so I can see it easy so that's not a problem I was just wondering if the boost readings are accurate enough for tuning.

The profec b is one of the more reliable electronic boost controllers out there for the $$. You should be good.

I would say that the boost gauge built into most ebc's is probably better than a manual/pneumatic gauge

Id' say always get an external one, also.
even thought the ebc does have a good boost reader, (also most shops usually also say to have a separate guage too)
I have that boost controller, and it is always a little off, I have had 3 different guages to test and they showed pretty similar boost, but the controller always showed less.
also if having a vac leak or maybe not installed corectly, would be good to have a separate guage just to be sure.
