I need to get my car towed and was wondering if I need to remove the front bumper cover for them to get it on a flatbed? It's lowered 1.5", has an M-sports kit and FMIC. It seems like these would interfere W/ a chain connected to the front tow hook. Please let me here your flatbed towing experiences.

i got towed by a flat bed that had bend so part of the ramp would be almost flat with the ground probably not even a inch incline, mad nice.

I happen to know a guy whos been towing cars for over 15 years.

He wouldnt dare put mine on a flat bed. He just towed it with a regular truck by lifting the rear wheels. The exhaust -almost- scraped, Im talking about <1/2 inch of clearance, but everything went well.

the guy that does my towing, thats, when i need a tow is really good. he has never let my car scrape not once out of the 4 times he has towed my car. wow, just realized thats alot. but i was running a c-west drft kit and megan d-spec exhaust with a like 9'' tip and huge front mount. not once did it scrape. the trick is just to walk the ramps forward. granted we used 2x8's that were close to 6ft long. but that seems to do the trick, but take the bumper off if you question your tow truck drivers skills.

ya my front lip is about 2 inchs of the ground. and i make it on my hoist its a drive on, with some pretty steep ramps(its build for full size trucks 18000lb capacity) you just need to get the car up higher, aka drive up onto 2x6's or something to get the car higher.

Take the bumper off. Dont even chance it.

I had my bumper rip off before, and ever since then. I've just cut the ziptieds

and dropped that shit in less than 30 secs.

yea my muffler scrapped.
oil pan almost got dinked.
took the fmic off

and this is all with 2x4's helping out as well as the flatbed being in the street and being lower then my driveway for more clearance as well.

i say take it off.
it's up to you tho.
do what u want.

This is what he did for my car. He also put the front wheels on a dolly. No scrapes or damadge. The driver said he couldn't put it on a flatbed. Thanks for the advice guys.

are you guys serious?

i had my car on a flatbed once.

removed the front bumper.

connected the chain onto tow hook

then my car rolled forward and the front wheels came off the ground about 6 inches.

just kinda scraping along on frame rails.

take off the bumper...get two flat thick pieces of wood and put it under the wheels..let it roll up on the flatbed..and you should be fine...do the same when you get the car off the flatbed...
