Ok so i searched for over an hour and only found fsm's and i dont understand the wiring for crap.

its a stock 96 s14 base, tach did not work when i got the car, swapped in a white face SE cluster and its still not working, my fuse box covers are missing so i cant check if its a fuse. anyone know what fuse/ wires i can check to get this working, or a way to wire it to get it working??? thanks. and pictures would help alot too.

okay, youre gonna have to do what everyone else does when they dont have a fuse box legend... im sure this one would be under the driverside kick panel, if not then under the hood on the driver side by the intake... but you gotta just pull every fuse and replace the one thats blown.. IF ITS a fuse... you may have to check all fuses on the car... under the hood and under the kick panel... or go to google or something and search for the legend if you can find it. so if its the fuse, you WILL find it... if theyre all good its somethin else.. hope this helps and good luck captain!

if its not working im pretty sure it isnt a fuse, check your tach pinout from the ecu to check for voltage, if its giving voltage just trace the wire from there.

i don't think it gives voltage, it should give a ground pulse from the tach signal wire at the ecu, it's yellow with a red stripe.

found no poped fuses and the wire is still how it should be, is there anyway to re wire it myself?

I am very interested, having the same problem... Someone told me to check a wire behind the glove box.
