Okay, well this mutha frikkn dude that i knoe thinks he's all bad ass with his mom's mustang gt and i'm getting really pissed at losing in the long run and i'm wondering what can I do with my KA to add massive horses so I can take on this guy. Gettin an SR20DET motor isn't the answer I really need and perfomance parts are a few paychex away but is there anybody out there willing to give me some low budget tips?

Nitrous.

But before that, please learn how to properly type and spell. I (and others) will quickly refuse to look at your rEtaRDed PosTs BeCAusE tHEy aRe AnnOYinG tO ReAD.

Plus, typing that way just makes you look like some ricer n00b...which you most likely are.

Hang around, read some posts, learn some shite, then post educated questions and comments. Otherwise, go chill at ClubSi...they'll work you over.

Hes not trying to come across as a dick and niether am I... but its really hard and very annoying to read thread title's like this one. I dont really have any suggestions for your problem, other than dont spray too much, and dont race on the street when you do it.

Sneak up on him while it's parked, then, LET HIM HAVE IT!!!

Or you could:
1. attach a leaf blower to your throttle body
2. raise the fuel pressure by pinching/puncturing certain vacuum lines.
3. make sure the leaf blower is on when you race him.

just a joke.
--luke

if you try it, I'm not responsible for what happens. But, please, let me know what happens.

here's what you need:

- timing advance kit
- electric supercharger
- tornado fuel saver device
- 1 bottle each of prolong, duralube, and slick 50, and the full Z-MAX kit
- NISMO emblem

then you'll SMOKE DAT AZZ

A few months ago, SCC did an article like this that should help you out.

Basically you just need a sawzall and a good sence for what weight is important and what is just engineered fluff (like C pillars and body panels and stuff). Get the car down around 1800lbs and go smoke some Rustang GeeTee's. Just hope he didn't read the article too

Unless you want nitrous or a turbo or extensive n/a mods, simple bolt ons won't catch a newer GT. They pull away (slowly) from my stock ca18.

EDIT: changed the topic title for everyone

That is entirely the wrong reason to build up your car. I'm dissapointed.

Hey ca18guy, I've looked around, yet can't find any concrete information on the ca18det. May I ask what the stock output is?

Something like 175hp 166lbs/tq, alot of other forums say there underrated, but those #s are what nissan tells us so i don't question them.

I disagree with the whole street racing concept..but one of the few times I have done it, I beat a V6 mustang. I was just too tempted. So you can beat a base model mustang..and just say that you beat a GT.

what bothers me is how n one has faith that they can BEAT a GT with a 240SX. I’m 3 and 0 with new-gen mustang GT’s… probably because they’re almost all automatics.
note: i drive a '92 240SX SE hatch, five speed. stock KA24DE. only modification is my exhaust- 2.25" from the cat back, with a magnaflow dual-tip muffler on the end. only reason i got it is b/c the old exhaust was falling apart....

2003 Mustang GT, manual
260 hp
3273 lbs.
12.59 lb/hp.

1992 240SX SE, manual
155 hp
2750 lbs.
17.74 lb/hp.

2003 Mustang GT, manual
0-60 6.0
1/4 14.7

1992 240SX SE, manual
0-60 7.9
1/4 16.1

yeah, the stang’s got a few horses on us, and yeah, it’s got a 1.4 second shorter quarter mile. But if this guy’s got an auto, and, since you say it’s his mom’s, he probably does, you can spank him. Keep in mind that the mustang is THE car to have in the eyes of people who know nothing about cars. Oh, and they handle like shit. Challenge him to a little auto-x too…

Ok... why... Why race a pustang... Sure its faster than my 240. And your 240.. But who cares. It’s a pustang... Face it we drive 240's we were meant to compete with Honda..

I will admit I have raced 4 people in my 3 years or driving...
1st I beat a Civic in my 79 GMC Camper special
2nd I beat a Honda CRX in a 1/2 mile up hill race..
3rd I don’t know what it was but he missed a shift.. haha GRIND
4th I think it was an Acura. Kind of looked like a pralude though. It was a freeway race we started out at 50 and I beat him to 120. Then my speed limit hit and he passed.. Suck ohh well...

Take in mind that these were before I got pulled over doing 114.... Let me tell you right now. IT’S NOT WORTH IT!!!! WHO CARES!!!! Yeah 5 days in court and a bunch of money later.... Trust me... Being taken to jail in the back of the cop car will make you find grown men can cry.

Well you elimiated the only feasible way to take a 'stang GT get the SR and stop whining. Put some basic mods and whoop away. It's fun to look on their faces and see the expression. I have put quality butt whopings on a few.

How do people always miss shifts when racing? I keep reading posts of people who miss shifts or who race people who miss and it baffles me. In all the years I've watched my parents drive, I've driven, or watched friends drive, I've never seen anyone screw up a shift more than once or twice in all that time (aside from the first few minutes in a new car. I screwed up my first 2-3 shift in the new RSX-S, but that was the only time). I've somtimes gotten stuck trying to get into 3rd from 5th, but I don't recall ever missing an upshift. Are there just a lot of really bad drivers or am I just really good?

It's because you don't street race and you've never been to the drag strip. When all that adrenaline is flowing, it's amazing how quickly your hands and feet forget what they are doing. You're trying to shift as fast as humanly possible, and you're trying to wait until the last possible moment to do it. Add to the the pressure of having the other guy creeping past you at just a bit higher rate of acceleration, and you don't want to lose ANYTHING on that shift. Trust me. First time (only time) I went to the strip, I botched the first run with a bad 2-3. Totally banged right into the gate. Had to sit there and fiddle with it to get it into gear, all the while watching the guy in his Civic cruise by. Blah.

Silly red, you obviously have no faith in the lovely JD aftermarket for these cars.. if you think a 180 can't beat a mustang gt, then i just don't think you have much faith. get a hold of me in april of next year and i'll show you that we can box with a much more powerful class of vehicles than i think you may realize.
