Whenever I adjust anything on my SR20DET the car will start to rev up and down. It goes away once I reset the ECU (unplug battery, plug back in after about a minute). Is this normal?

You should be adjusting idle speed and timing with the TPS off. When the TPS is on the timing will jump around a bit at idle. Start the car, unplug the tps, turn off the car. Start the car and rev it up a few times, make sure the car idles steady, turn down the idle to where you want it using the IACV screw, adjust timing at the cas. How much were you adjusting FP by? Seems like you would have to lean it out quite a bit to get a shitty idle.
