Hi guys,

Do any of you know of a source where I can get info regarding the differences between the trim levels for the 240sx? I'm interested in the options between the models and also the weight differences. I found a clean fastback LE and decided against since I thought it would be much heavier than the other two.

Thanks for the reply. I am looking for a good vehicle to mod and from the looks of it, it looks like the base may be best. It does not have the hicas and I'm guessing is the lightest and most rigid of the three (no sunroof, no leather). I will look around for the weight of the vehicles on this board.

Thanks for the help BEISSEN.

SE and LE don't have such a huge difference at all. The biggest differences are the VLSD unit which weighs no more than 7lbs, there is no power mechanism to the sunroof, and the power windows weigh the same. The ABS actuator unit weighs about 7lbs as well, and the ABS Control Unit weighs about 3lbs. So... I don't think you're looking at that much difference. I have an LE. It runs faster 1/4 mile stock then my very mildly modded S13 SE coupe (think: no hatch and no big heavy glass) did. I don't think it's that big of a deal. I would go for an LE over any other model, honestly.

This link has pages from factory brochures of every year the 240SX was sold, describing the features of all models and available options.

The LE model was in most instances equivalent to an SE with leather and a sunroof. &nbsp; It was only sold at the end of both generations.

my '91 LE has ABS, VLSD, and leather

I think you're '91 LE was really an SE with leather. Your first owner was a cheap-ass.

I meant you have all the SE options with leather, not that your car is really an SE, lol <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>.

My 1991 240sx LE doesnt have ABS, VLSD, or HICAS either. But it does have leather, aluminum alloy wheels, power windows/mirrors/locks, and spoiler; these are all standard for LE. To my knowledge, LE doesnt offer VLSD or HICAS.

On the contrary, S13grl, your 1991 240sx is most likely a SE with leather (somehow) and the optional Handling Package. You're very lucky.
