I changed my rear brake pads today and when i was spreading the calipers to fit the new brake pads in the piston was hell tring to spread.  It was like that on both sides.  Did anyone else encounter this problem or are my calipers due for an overhaul.

there's some little tool you're supposed to get from local autoparts store. it's a "key" of sorts. i have one, cost 10 bucks, haven't used it yet. but i think that's you're problem.

when u compress the rear calipr pistons, u need to spin the piston back instead of pushing it.

When I changed mine all i did was use a pair of channel locks to "screw" them back in.......they went in real easy.

Of course, the emergency brake needs to be disengaged as well.

i didn't screw it in i pressed it in.  That might be the problem, ooops well i really think they are screwed now, maybe ill go with the z32 rear upgrade since the calipers are about 120 a piece.

that's what the caliper "key" is for. you just attach it to i think a 3/8'' drive wratchet and turn the thing back in. of course, i'm sure channel locks would work as well. but that's kinda like using a sledgehammer to open a Snack Pack pudding cup. effective, but you risk not being able to eat your pudding (or damage your caliper). &nbsp; <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

i didn't know this "key" existed but now i have a good reason to do a brake upgrade.
