I have an SR20DET crankshaft that has been cut 10/10, so I ordered a set of .25mm ACL main/rod bearings respectively.

When I got the bearings, they were .025mm. I called the vendor and was told that .025mm and .25mm are the same. Well, they claimed that ACL told them this. Has anyone heard of this?

ACL listed them as a separate size on their web site:

ACL Race Con Rod Bearings 4B2960H come in three sizes: STD, .025, .25

ACL Race Main Bearings 5M2964H come in four sizes: STD, .025, .25, .50

I'd hate to keep them and find out they don't fit.

Those are not the same. Do they know how decimals work?

they aren't the same, we installed a set of the .25mm a few weeks ago but have a bunch of std and .025 here. Tell them to look in the ACL part catalog.

I called ACL directly today and they confirmed that the vendor was wrong. I shouldn't have doubted myself, but I thought it was some special bearings or something. :duh:

Fortunate for me, the vendor finally admitted that he made a mistake (he claimed that ACL misinformed him, but he should know their decimal points) and sending me new sets.

Thanks again for all the comments.

Apparently, they don't know how the decimal works. A zero in front of 25 makes a big difference if it's in front of or behind the decimal point

Good luck the next time someone orders from ACL.

LOL. That was what he thought Bill, his worker told him. Trust me, Bill can be a little confusing when he tried to explain stuffs. What happened was that Bill call ACL. ACL told him that the only time the bearings are 10 thousands when they are marked .25mm. If it has zero in front of it, then it is in 4-5 thousands. At my place, we write 0.25mm and that is 10 thousand, but ACL told Bill that 0.25mm is 4-5 thousands.
