z32 upright axle seal

i put mine on, before reading these two articles:

the first guy says remove the seal in the upright and says nothing about the dust shield on the axle.

the second (coleman) says remove the dust shield, while also saying that the upight seal is not critical.

right now ive got it together (untorqued) with BOTH the shield and the seal on there. from visual, the dust shield seats in the groove/lip outside the bearing hole, and doesnt look like its interfering with anything.

am i gonna tear this apart and remove thes two deals?

I knocked the seal off the axle and used the one on the upright. I guess you can do it either way, but I preferred that route when I did mine.
