so i just installed a Buddy Club Spec II on my stock KA24DE S13, i love the deep throaty tone but that shit is loud as hell. especially at low revs in 1st gear when im parking. i have also yet to install my Hotshot header, which im sure would make it even louder. anyways would a 2nd silencer stacked in front the 1st one help at all.

i've heard turbos quiet down the engine. Or you could sound deaden your interior and add a couple of resonators maybe? Or get a smaller exhaust?

i have my heart set on this catback, turbo(already got Hotshot header, remember) and resonator(dont want to chop up my new catback) are off the table. so would 2 silencers stacked together work?

if u dont want it loud, dont get an aftermarket exhaust

silencer and stuff some steel wool in ur muffler before u put the silencer in if u really wanna quiet it down that much

i think ill try some fiberglass instead, i wouldnt want the steel wool to rust in the exhaust.

especially a buddy club. wtf, did you not know this in one of the loudest exhausts??? its basicly a straight pipe. :ugh:

actually i have no problem when im driving around, its just especially loud when im picking up in 1st gear. when im feathering the throttle, parking on a hill. anyways seems like nobody has a definite answer as to whether a double silencer will work or not.

i guess the easiest way to find out is try it yourself ? if it works let us know.

whats so bad about loud ? just pop it in Neutral when you need silence and parking takes a couple of seconds so dont waste your time and enjoy the sound !!!!!!

well its gonna be even louder once i put the header in, so its probably a good idea to address the issue now. so im gonna try the fiberglass first, the double silencer next and then a combination of both to see which one works best without changing the tone too much.

just get a 3 inch glasspack installed and run a resonated testpipe. thats what my buddy did to his rsr ex-mag exhaust and it quieted down the exhaust a bunch. rsr ex-mag may look stealthy but its loud as hell too. its a pretty much a straight pipe too with a straight thru resonator at the tip, not a chambered one.

There are alot of silencers. Ones with little holes in the cylinder, ones with padding in it, ones that just have a small hole in it. There are plenty of silencers throughout the world, use google, search for a better one. Since you have a buddy club I imagine it's a 3 inch diameter, so just match it up with a good silencer.

No, I'm 99% sure stacking silencers wouldn't work

your best bet would be in install a resonator of some sort.

<-----Custom exhaust with 2 resonators and a turbo.

Still too loud for me. It'll help a little bit, but don't expect anything too dramatic.

or just man up

or buy a quieter exhaust

Buddy Club Spec 2 is made for turbo cars anyways...

+1

Doubleing silencers wouldn't work, and silencers make a huge restriction anyway

look into a resonator or something along those lines, or man up.

One question though. Exhaust experts needed :)

I have a 3inch ebay exhaust with no resonators. I look at the muffler, its straight trough pretty much, no silencer. Now, If I were to install a 35 inch cherry bomb, but cut out the can and replace with just piping, would it be around the same loudness?

what if i spaced them out to create a chamber.

Buddy Club is not the best choice if you want a quieter exhaust, I had it on my KA with a pacesetter header (lol) that thing rattled the whole car. It is not that loud once you are turbo. Resonators, extra shit will not help that much and it is gonna ruin the thing in the long run. If you want something that sounds nice, just get a Blitz Realize TT, Apex'i Hybrid Megaphone, RSR ex-mag etc.

If your complaining about the noise...I suggest you just get this...

http://phase2motorsports.stores.yahoo.net/ap3excovan.html

You can run the exhaust with no silencer with this thing.

you got a clip of this exhaust? i wonder how deep it sounds.

i got a trust dd on stock KA and i don't find it too loud

maybe on the highway for 2hrs then it gets to you for a bit.

drive more, you'll get used to it.

Get a chambered muffler at the mid pipe
A resonator will reduce some noise but not as much as a chambered muffler.

Silencers reduce noise by flow restriction. Not the most efficient way to reduce noise.

if you live in california or hate loud exhausts you bought the completely wrong exhaust

ebay silencers make it a little quieter than the one which came with the exhaust. but it will sound shitty/still be somewhat loud

sorry

Spec II loud on a ka-yes, but on our sr its as loud as a normal import canister style exhaust. On the track we're easily one of the more quiet cars...sometimes made fun of. LOL.

well i stuffed it with some fiberglass today and it has made it noticeably quieter with out changing the tone. im still waiting on the second silencer to see how it sounds.

stack resonators. counting the exhaust end in mine, i have 3 and it is quieter than a stock KA with stock pipe with a RB25

same shit on my side of the fence.

not only that but i added a moroso race muffler/resonator.

google it.

It cut the sound down in half.

Power and boost is still the same.

cant complain.
