View Full Version : Sportmax 962 fitment question

I have a 97 240sx with Megan Street coilovers. I also have z32 30mm brakes in the fronts. I plan to get the sportmax 962's in 18x9.5 +35 offset for all 4 corners.
My question is what will I need to do to make these wheels fit on my car properly. Will I need spacers, fender roll/pull, etc.? Would I be better off getting a 8.5" wide for the fronts?

I'm lookin for some decent rims that have some dish to them and won't cost me an arm and leg. So if you have any other suggestions on wheels, please feel free to post.

Better off getting better rims. But if you must, run some spacers. I would say 20 up front and 25-30 in the rear. With fender roll you should be fine.

How much are you willing to spent?

edit: also are you a 4 lug or 5?

for teh price of sport max, I would rather rock some mbs. Or add a couple hundred and find some used rims. I would say for about 800 you can find some volk, older versions of work.

I was gonna say... sportmax and fitment don't belong in the same sentence.

its going to be difficult to find 18s with lip for that cheap, MBs or FNs work for that same price range, much lighter and proper fitment.

if you interested i have a set of 18" FN01rc for sale, 18x9.5 +12, 18x9.5 +22

To answer your question, you won't need to do anything.

They'll fit.

They won't fit properly in a flush sense. But you for sure won't need a roll/pull.

Damn all those posts and not one answer? WTF.

You'll need huge huge spacers.

Like me! Haha.

He asked how to make them fit PROPERLY.

97 240
Z brakes only in front
Sportmax

Dude you're on a slippery slope of doom. I rock Knockoff wheels all day but Sportmax are just, really terrible. At least MB's look like good wheels.

I recommend you get some FN01RC's if you want some cool wheels for cheap.

You'll probably hit coilovers if my calculations are correct.

18x9.5 +35 won't even clear coilovers so...no they dont fit

Thanks for the reply guys. I guess I'll have to look somewhere else for wheels. I was thinkin I could just put some spacers on and it should make the clearance problems go away but I see so many people rocking sportmax's and they don't seem to complain much about them. How big of spacers would i need to make them fit? And also, if I changed the wheel size to 18x8.5 for the fronts and put spacers on, how would that look?

you will need 5mm/10mm spacers to make them fit with coilovers and Z brakes...i run sportmax 006s infront and rear (17x9 front and 18x9.5 rear)...the fronts HAVE TO have 5mm spacers...the rears will fit fine...however they will be a bit sunken in..run 5mm or 10mm in back
