PAY ATTENTION TO THIS! DO NOT TIGHTEN OR TORQUE THE BOLTS UNTIL YOU PUT THE TIRES BACK ON AND LOWER THE CAR TO THE GROUND OR YOU WILL BUST THE HELL OUT OF ANY RUBBER OR POLY BUSHINGS THAT YOU HAVE!!!!

that's weird. i've done this a few times and never had that problem.

Those bushings were already damaged if they tore that easily because the alignment doesn't change that much in the air. Otherwise, every time the car is lifted off the ground you'd need new bushings. The rod does tweak a little, but not enough to do that above.
