So we were changing my clutch and i guess the harness got pinched or something when we were taking the tranny out [we were pushing the engine forward]

when we connected the battery back and tried to start the car... we popped my ignition fuse .. so i put in the radiator fan fuse and it blew too...

As far as i know theres a short somewhere on the harness as part of the ignition..

what im wondering is where should i start looking with the voltage meter..

Read the wiring diagram. Basically there are like 3 separate circuits in the harness. Chase the blown fuse back to the general area where you think you smashed the wires and start there

Yea look for the visible damage to the harness, it could be severe, or just a couple wires mashed into eachother. In any case, i would look for the visible damage. Open the protective covering where you suspect the impact was.
You might have even actually severed wires, anything is possible with a few hundred pounds of force on a small surface area. :-/
