Hello, I just insalled an external walbro fuel pump for my SR20-powered Datsun. We first tested to see if the car would run with just the fuel pump dangling on the ground and not bolted up yet until we knew it was going to run. It ran perfectly fine.
So the next day, we finished soldering the wires and bolted the external pump to the chassis. We start it up and the car runs like crap. It idles rough and when you slightly give it gas it bogs and stumbles until you give it more gas. Im guessing its running lean because the engine is really hot and it doesnt have a rich smell to it.
The question is, would bad wiring to the fuel pump be causing this? Because this is the only thing that was changed between the first and second day, nothing else was touched.

Check the voltage and resistance at the pump.
