I tried the SEARCH function and couldnt come up with any info on the clearance of q45 brakes? I have stock wheels and am wondering if they will fit behind the stock steelies (91 240sx fb)

thanks
Josh

then your searching skills suck ass

it has been repeatedly said that q45 brakes do not pose any fitment problems because all the added mass is on the inner side

not true. stock steelies come in 15" and you need to run 16" wheels to make these fit. i have them on my car and the steelies wouldn't fit. stock r32 wheels fit which are 16". but pretty much any 16" wheel should fit. if any you who posted above have these brakes and 15" wheels please take pics and let me see!

15's what are those? why would anyone still on stock steelies need q45 brakes?

well, my car needs brakes, rotors are warped pretty bad and the pads are shot and I figure if im going to replace both, mind as well upgrade while im in there. Thats why q45 brakes with stock 15s... and the Z BMC. Anyone with the q45 w/ stock 15s chime in!

thanks

and yes, i guess my searching skills do suck ass, i was looking for over an hour and only was able to find info on parts and the possibility of the rear brakes wearing down faster but that seems to be a problem with only a few people and can most commonly be solved by the Z BMC.

My 15inch Enkei meshies clear. My 15 inch SE 7 spokes clear. I've seen steelies clear as well. Maybe your steelies weren't the OEM ones...

Thanks everyone for the Q45 knowledge, I just finished my Q45 upgrade a few days ago and it works GREAT. Besides the slight pedal pressure difference, its very responsive and you can lock you brakes up fairly easy if you have cheap rubber! And they do fit under OEM 15 inch wheels!

Calipers=$15 each from JY off low mile 95 Q45 ($30)
Raybestos q45 rotors=$36 each ($72)
Redrilling q45 rotors=$30 each ($60 total)
Ceramic raybestos pads=$32
Brake hardware=$12 each caliper ($24 total)

dont use the z32 mbc use the one for a z31 turbo it matches the q45's better

actually $7.50 a hole =D

they charge per hour of labor, not per hole

What do you mean "matches" them better? Gives a better braking feel/bias?

thanks!

they only drilled 3 holes per rotor, one hole was reused. but it was a joke anyway, don't worry about it.

Fits stock S13 wheels as shown here, as well as Z32 rears. Only profile pic I have of both set ups showing clearly.
