I've been searching to see if it has been done but having no luck finding it. Has anyone seen this swap done to a 240? A 4A-GE 20v into a 240?

I like ae86's a lot, but putting a 4ag into a 240 is just plain stupid.

It's the opposite of hot rodding.

Is it good for show/meet points or something?

Well the motor has decent power and the 20 valve configuration sounds promising. I was interested in the motor because of the high end power. From what I've heard it can make a little over 200hp @ 11000rpm.

I haven't heard of anyone swapping that into a 240, but why would you want to do that, when an SR can make that much with little or no mods, it just wont hit that 11k RPM... For the price and time it'll probably take you to figure out everything and custom make mounts and things, it would have probably been better just to get an SR, but thats just me, I kind of have a thing for SR's...

Do you know how much it costs to build a 4A-GE that can do 200HP NA @11,000 RPM? I'm guessing no.

I like SR's as well it's just that I would like to see something new. Basically, I just think it would be cool to see a 4A-GE 20v in a 240sx. I know their popular in the AExx cars but I believe they would perform quite well in a 240.

@atom: Money isn't really a big issue here

KA into an 86: Cool.

20 valve into a 240: Not so much.

To get a Silver or Black top 4AGE to 200hp at 11krpm would take a truck load of cash. Case in point Iida Akira's $100,00 Levin Corolla using a Group A spec 20v, check it out in the tech reference of club4ag.com.
Now if you still want N/A power what about swapping the 2.2L Honda S2000 engine? 220hp, 9000rpm factory reliability. I haven't searched but has anyone done this to a 240sx? I've seen it in a AE86.

Just do a SR20VE head swap on a S14 SR20DE short block, new intake manifold and header and you will be close to 180whp or a lil more. Bigger cams and valve springs and you should be able to hit 200whp or better. And you get the mad Vtak switch over to scare the honda boys with lol.

leave projects like that up to the big shops and tuners...unless you got the cash and the experience cause the custom fab and work involved will be a lot for not a lot of power and very expensive

again. ka in an s2000: cool EDIT: kinda cool. not really.
s2000 engine in a 240:...not so much.

i also do not like the 4age in a 240. yeah its different but i think the 240 is a little big for that motor. kinda like putting a ca in an s14. just doesnt seem right? i dont know maybe thats just me. now a 4age in a miata would be interesting.

..... why? Just get an sr, ca, rb or anything and it will make more power than that and have a less peaky powerband.

If its going in a magazine cool. If its not its regoddamndiculous.

sorry to be so negative.. I like unconventional things, but 4ag into a 13 is just retarded.

200hp 4ag in a 13 will suck. Please take into consideration the measily torque the 1.6 liter will make. a daul cam KA with a few bolt ons will probably be faster.

got lots of money and want to do something a little different? how about a 1j or 2j? or v8 from nissan titan with a 6 speed? rb26 is always impressive.. or put in a chevy 572 crate motor, ls7, etc..

so many other ways to do it better.

I think it would take more than a FEW bolt ons. :loco:

Either way, the whole idea is stupid.

So much custom work and money to be DIFFERENT. Who cares, you'll be like:

Hey guys, I have a 20v Toyota Motor. *Drives off fast*

VRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM

*A guy that does a common SR swap with a few bolt ons blows by you*

Your ends don't justify your means, basically is what I'm trying to say.

But hey, do it, and then see what people will say.

A 3SGTE swaped into a 240 makes more sense that a 4age.

I was thinking along the lines of swapping a F22C into a s13 and supercharging it youll have 2.2L and a supercharger/turbo and has .2 more displacement over SR and you'll hit VTEC like them Honda boys

I think getting a 1jz or 2jz would be way more impressive than a 4ag. Like everyones been saying unless you have alot of money porjects like that would be worthless. Yeah itll be different but it wont be impressive.

lol. 20valves are a fail motor (for anything other than a Corrolla/old school Tercel/Starlet/MR2/etc, that is). 145hp and torque like a single cam Honda... Fuck that. lol

If it made the car faster I would say go for it but it won't...

It's a step backwards... You don't want to be unique, expensive, and slow...

JUST BUY A COROLLA!!!!

A 4AG in a 240 would be slow as mud, probably wouldnt even move the car lol
Why would you do that?!?

Motor swaps are getting out of hand...if you wanan LS1...buy a GTO or a Camaro! Want a 4AG? Buy a Corolla or a MR2!! coommee oonnnn

An LS1 makes a 240 even lighter than the KA... which is already 500 lbs at least lighter than a camaro, making it a good idea
The key is to find a motor newer than your car, as technology progresses you get more power and less weight
