i hurd to use 2.5 75w90, GL-4 is this right?
whats the difference between GL-4 and GL-5?

http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/95826
i found here that GL-5 is bad for s13s?
and im wondering why? and what should i use for my s14 tranny?

Gl-5 contains some additive that's bad for the trans.

Use redline MT-90, perfect for your S14 transmission, makes shifting real smooth even in the cold.

IIRC its 2.7 you will need
Redline MT-90 72W90 is the best I have ever used! But IMG the smell is terrable - make sure the boot on your shifter isnt torn - or you will be smelling that stuff everyday :aw:

I had Redline put in my tranny on the first time I serviced it. It f'ed up the syncros, but I honestly think the syncs where already going bad and I had the idiots at Autobacs do it.

Why did I go there? No clue, guess because it was next to my friends house and we hung out while waiting for my car.

I second the Royal Purple suggestion, just don't spill it on your shop pants or you will learn not to bring them inside ever again. You can't do anything to get rid of the smell except throwing them away.

Ive used that pennzoil synchromesh but its very thin. MT-90 is good stuff for our tranny's

The FSM calls for GL-4. No matter what brand you use, make sure the viscosity is correct.

Lucas is prettty good for your tranny seems to work a bit better most conventional tranny fluids. but takes a bit to warm up cause its very thick

+1 for Redline MT-90. Went from GL-5 Mobil 1 to MT-90 and it made a ton of difference.

My mechanic put Redline 75w90 into the tranny instead of MT-90. Has anyone else tried this and did you have any adverse effects?

I use lucas (keeps stock fs5 gear box together even with 400-500hp through it)

There are a couple different mixes of redline.

Syncho
MT-90
75-90

The Nissan Manual Trans needs MT-90. The trans only take 2.2. Fill to 2.5 to be safe. Fill through the SHIFTER access, that way you can completely extinguish the bottle, and have an accurate measurement of how much fluid went in.

Lucas is a sure fire way to loose power. Buy the good stuff.

I ran MT90 in the S13. Ran it in my S14 until I switched to 75w90NS(no friction modifiers). The tranny IMHO shifter faster, smoother.

dude are you fucking kidding?

its not that thick, its GEAR OIL, its the same weight as regular oil its just made by lucas. Youve obviously never used it.

If you fill your tranny with OIL STABILIZER well it will just be a dog, i dont know how much power youll lose on a dyno tho.

I probably should run straight oil stabilizer honey tho at my power levels its amaging the box isnt molten metal sloshing around.

cheap and if i run out of "good stuff" i can buy it nearby at the track or any local auto-store

No Im not kidding.

You need to use that crap because you shift like a savage, shit grinding all over. Im suprised your trans hasnt run away from your b/m drag shifter :keke:
