i recently picked up a 91 240 and it seems to be idling wierd. the trany was swapped from auto to stick.. could it be the ECU? it wasnt relpace from auto to manual due to some speed limiter. the problem is when im driving and come to a stop it idles js below 2000 then in 3 to 4 seconds later drops to 1200. also when i step on the gas the rpm goes up and on the way down gets stuck below 2000 again then back to 1200

i have already done a tune up and clean out the throttle body. PLEASE HELP i dont know wat else to do....

Uhmm I'm confused, so basically, you come to a stoplight or something, and when you take it out of gear it idles at 2k then drops to 1200? If so, and you already did a tune up and everything, check the ECU for the little idle speed turning thing, not sure what its called, but I know you can adjust the idle there... Not exactly sure if this will fix your problem, but if the car idles at 1200 all the time I think this could work... Hope that helps.... Oh, and did you try searching?

Does the engine rev past 2500 or 3000 rmps? If so, then I'm guessing its a clogged or dirty iacv
