just got a power fc for my stock redtop. fmic, 3 inch exhaust all the way back, running 14psi. the manuel says its jstu as good as the stock ecu, so it should be safe to run on it right? i just dont have time to get it tuned for like another three weeks

base maps supposedly isn't really efficient, but yes it'll be fine
as long as you don't have a different maf/injectors

and make sure the boost sensor thing is off...
manuals can be downloaded via apex's website

I had the same question. Thanks for posting that.
I will probablly just get mine flatbedded to the shop and let them tune.
I know its gonna cost big bread. Were are you getting yours done at?

use enthalpy base map, runs a little smoother

you dont have to get it flat bedded. i beat a new mustang GT with it earlier. the only reason why im not going to use it for daily driving is becuase its running rich so its a waste of gas.

im probably taking it to jeff evans or R/t tuning.

check out www.Tristatetuners.com ... alot of good tuners on there.

what color is your car, maybe i have seen you around..

The stock maps are way rich up top and are lean on boost onset, much like a stock ecu map. Also the ignition timing is rediculously retarded leaving lots of power on the table. The enthalpy map posted is a great baseline.

ive been running the stock map for 1.5 yrs.. no money to tune.. but thats in two weeks now that ive finally saved up enough money haha. i hate being poor. beaten evo's, sti's, etc..

is the enthalpy map safe to boost 14 psi on?

probably, but if you want to be safe, set it to 12psi or 11 or 10, they're plenty fast...

I had been running on stock map on my power FC and just today tuned it to the enthalpy map. Its much better I gained 9hp and everything runs much nicer.

I would take advantage of the fact that you now have a fully tunable computer, and take the boost down to stock, until you get it tuned.

This seems the safest and most cost effective solution.

the enthalpy map is so much smoother then the bace FC map! Thanks for the help guys.

his maps are a starting point, it's not specific to your car, to maximize everything you need to get it tuned...

at least get datalogit and play with it yourself a little bit
