Hi Guys,

I started buying parts for a SR20DET swap into my S14 and I remember reading that there are clearence issues between the exhaust and the steering shaft (since it is on the other side in the JDM cars). I can't find the info on it now, so I'm hoping someone can help me out.

Is it the turbo dump pipe or the downpipe that has clearence issues (or both)?

What is the solution? Is there a company that makes one for the swap that will clear properly? E-bay?

Thanks in advance for your help and comments!!!

It's the bottom turbo heat shield. Removing it should help out with the clearance from the steering shaft.

Sweet. So I don't need any new exhaust parts then!?!! That's easy, and I love when things don't cost anything.

I'll probably get a new dump pipe anyways, just for the performance benifits, but it's nice to know that I don't have to worry about clearence.

Thanks a lot for your help!!!

Where did you get your Sr20 at?

He's in Atlanta, so (while I don't friggin know him) I am willing to bet he got it from JARCO.
... but that has nothing to do with this thread or the question he asked, so please PM people when you have this kinda question moving forward
