I have a 1990 240sx with a S14 SR20DET. Now I already have alot of mods on the engine, but now I'm ready to upgrade the internals. My question is what are the max size cams I can use without having to upgrade the valve springs and retainers? And what are the best brand of cams to use on the SR engine? Please someone with a lil bit more knowledge help me out. And would my already existent modifications to my engine effect my choice of cams? I have a RS Enthalpy tuned ECU, 550cc injectors, S15 dual ball bearing T28 turbo, Z32 MAF, tubular manifold, HKS Hi Power 3 in Exhaust, Test pipe, intake, Koyo radiator, and Blitz LM intercooler. All help will be appreciated and thank you very much.

tomei pon cam's are the best or you can call web cams for a custom pair

agreed. pon cams would be your best bet or an equivalent would be hks 256/256 (lift is slighly different). this being that you dont wanna upgrade your springs

would still recommend you to change to stiffer springs.
then you'd have the choice of 256/256 or 264/264step1s

^^ Agreed, why wouldn't you change your springs?? The valves themselves are fine, and springs are not expensive. Get some springs, a slightly bigger cam, and some RAS.

If your upgrading internals it only makes sense to do spring/retainers/RAS for the price.
