wont start need help

so the other day my check engine light comes on, and when i start the car cold it starts and then dies. if i hold the gas it stays on then idles normal. then, all of the sudden it wont start at all. the battery is fine (had it checked) but when i turn the key, nothing happens. what do you guys think, electrical problem, fuel, starter?

Pull the codes! What car and motor do you have?

Pull codes with the key on first.

Sounds like the start signal, since it's the only thing that would trip a code and prevent starting. Otherwise you've got a starter, starter relay, or battery problem somewhere.
