Ok I have searched and tried everything i could find, but my car makes an annoying popping sound anytime i step on the brakes(going forward only). I have torqued all nuts and bolts to spec, and tried moving the tire back and forth, but nothing is loose. Could someone please throw out some new suggestions?
Oh and the noise is only on the passenger side.

Man, I was just searching around today on here and on freshalloy. I'm having the same problem as you.

From the threads I've found people suggest that the ball joints or the tie rods/ends could be gone. On mine the balljoints and the tie rods are fine. I'm going to flush out my brakes tomorrow and try to torque everything down in the front.

Good luck with yours and if you find anything out post it up here.

I definitely will if i figure it out. Next week i am going to order a energy suspension bushing kit and install hopefully that will solve it.

Well the kit only replaces the tension rod bushing and the lower control arm bushing in the front. The rest are for the rear. I replaced my tension rods with SPL rods and it is still doing it. And the front lca bushings are retarded expensive for just 2 bushing (from whiteline, let me know if there are cheaper ones) so I haven't replaced those yet.

My s14 makes this sometimes and its my tension rods I found out.

Anybody know what the creaking noise from the rear at slow speeds is from??

Anybody?

I also have replaced my tension rods and the clunk isnt as bad as it was, but im thinking that maybe my control arm is moving a lil back and forth under pressure. I am still gonna get the bushing kit because my subframe, swaybar, swaybar endlink bushings look real bad too.

i found i had a similar "thud" sound just before stopping last summer. after several track days my tension rods had loosened slighty where it mounts to the control arm and would slip then thud. i tightened everything up and all was good.

I mine makes a popping noise but only only when I turn left. Does that sound like the tie rods to you guys or maybe the rack??

Ok I am running Megan coil overs, and i checked all my bolts on all suspension components. I also noticed it only does if the car is rolling straight, If i cut the wheels and start rolling it will not do it

Ummm i don't wanna sound stupid, but i found one thread where i thought they said not to tighten that nut or it would break the dampener knob?

hmm...front LCA's...also this might sound somewhat retarded...but is your battery securely tied down?

Ummmm my battery is in my hatch so that's not the prob, and does the energy suspension bushing kit contain the necessary bushings to correct the lca's bushings?

if it is the master bushing then yes it will come with LCA bushings...it's really hard diagnose a problem over the internet...but try installing the kit..and keep us all posted...good luck

It's your flca pivot ball where it connects to the spindle.

Thanks that's what i was thinking, but can u replace just the pivot ball or does the whole flca have to be replaced?

the energy suspension kit is a real good kit i had it on my previous car. it does repace the front tension rod bushings, and the front lower control arms bushings. if you like to burn stuff you'll have fun with this kit
