i was at school and had my 95 240 on the rack in the air..... noticed my boots were shredded, my rack & pinion is in need of repair or replacement. can anyone recommend me to a website where i can buy rack & pinions? is even good to buy a remanufactured one? and no i dont want to pull one off a 240 from a junkyard lol.... i want a new one or remanufactured. i will not pay $1400 for a brand new one from the dealership, thats rediculous, aint it?

why do you need to replace the rack is it giving you shit like leaks etc? or is it just because the boots are ripped?

I have a remanufactured unit came with a 1year warrantee and it only cost me 90 bucks

try the infamous auction site, some cheap racks on there

Go to NAPA and get a reman one. Its 450 or so. If you know someone that works there you can get a really big discount(employees pay cost +10%)!

But if all you need are new boots, just buy those for $10 and slide them on.

I bought a Hicas rack off a fellow member and had it rebuilt locally. I think the rebuild service cost about $100... I'll be installing it this weekend with some poly rack bushings, a rebuilt ps pump and new z32 inner and spl outer tie rods. :)

Boots are about $40 for the pair from Nissan btw. I'm sure you can find universal boots for much cheaper.

dude i wish i had a camera to take pics of how shitty it looks, its a wonder it still works, it leaks

guys.... i have replacement boots, but the problem is.... MY rack and pinion, it needs to be replaced. I have already had it looked at from a couple of my instructors at UTI. But... thanks for the concern and help. I looked at that website and i think i am gonna order one this weekend
