Not hard to do all you need to do is take the three screws from the bottom off and if you have a 95-98 and the screw that is in the door handel plate and athe screw that is in the door piece where you control you windows and such.Disconnect the wire's to the motor its one clip nad then unscrew the speaker and that is all.I dont think you have to bypass any amps just prob cut and splice the the neg and positive connections if they dont fit the aftermarket but that is it.

Too little, too late (always wanted to say that)...j/k.

Thanks for the info, but I have already put the new ones in...sound really nice compared to the clarions (stock 6.5 speakers).

Man, you are quick! I have had my car apart for 3 days, driving my Moms Honda &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
I had to get rid of the factory amps and now I am just trying to get some speaker mounts made, but I broke a saw blade. The rears are being done too though.
What speakers did you go for?
Jeff
BTW, I did 6.5" but 6x9s will fit.

I've been doing car stereo shit since I was like 13 (about seven years of experience). I just wanted to know where the retainer clips were located so I didn't snap em in two.

I ended up getting some Polk GSXR6 (6.5'S)...sound a hell of a lot better over my stock blown ones.

This week has been hellish. Now 2 of my bolts on the amp are stuck &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

You will need to build a brakcet from 1/2" wood. It is not that hard, but if you don't have the tools, it will be a pain.

Make a template first, get the holes lined up, the use a router to trim the edges, so the door panel clears. Mount the speaker to the panel, mount the panel to the door. Your done.
If you need help, email me at [email protected]
I am going down now to finish the rears.
Oh, you can fit 6.5"s with lots of room. 6x9's are possible, but it may be tight.
Good luck.
Jeff
