SR20DET with rev-limiter??????

I've been looking at the Bee-R misfiring system, and the rev limiter that they offer. Firstly mis-firing is for rally cars and Uber turboed drag cars. Right?? And rev-limiters are used in Indy cars . Right?? Well, what would be the benefits of me getting either one of these for my S13. Now I really love the way a mis-firing system sounds. ( hell that's why I got into imports) I also like the way a turbo sounds when it detonates the exhaust during a shift. So from a performance stand point which one of these is best for my SR20. Then from a " it's just cool to have " point of view what would you get for yours. Eventually I plan on having my SR make about 350-375 HP so a turbo upgrade is coming but nothing insane. Anyway, what do you think. Mis-fire, or rev limiter. Either way I"ll neet a test pipe. Anyone know where to get one?

Both are very good and does a lot for your sr20det. if your drifting i would get the misfiring system. it will give you a increase of power and it will help you pick up speed faster for the turn and also when you get out of the turn. bee*R Rev Limiter will help protect your engine. Instead of causing fuel-cut which can cause stress on the engine, the Rev Limiter cuts the ignition. This action also results in a "mis-firing" simulation. If you have a test pipe on your vehicle, the results would be flames if you load the system enough with fuel. If you still retain your catalytic converters, you will hear a popping sound. Well i have an sr with the TECHTOM IIC-460 misfiring system. I love it that i can launch with .7 boost. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':love:'> &nbsp;Plus it sounds hella sweet. It all depends on what you are planing on doing, drag or drift.

Ok I had no idea what a misfiring system was, so I just looked it up. The information I found said that it burns gas in your exhaust system to keep the turbo spooled up. It also said that it destroys exhaust systems and tubos, and is not legal on the street. If this is true, than why would you want this on your car unless you have the money to rebuild the stuff frequntly?

That's why I'm thinking about the rev-limiter. There are benifits to both, so I thought I'd ask the professionals what they thought.

And nothing(no that's a lie) most things that's good for performance is street legal. Sr20's ,test pipes, some exhaust systems, Big turbos, agressive cams ect ect.

"misfiring system" is often interpreted as different things. The TechTom IIC-460 is an intelligent rev-limiter, much like the Bee-R rev-limiter. If you've been watching too much Initial D and heard them talking about the "misfiring system" on the Evo, then what you're looking for is called an anti-lag system. Like srJOEYdet said, it's designed to keep the boost up at low rpms. It's primarily used in rally racing where there are a lot of tight hairpin corners. It is VERY destructive. WRC teams replace turbos every day of use. It wouldn't be that much use in drifting seeing as how the RPM is usually high enough to keep the turbo spooled (drifting a WRC car has a very different throttle application compared to a rwd).

The Bee*R system isn't a misfiring system, simulated yes (so you can shoot flames). &nbsp;It won't spool up your turbos upon downshifting and exiting a corner as a rally car would.

I don't want to kill my engine by having it run too much like a race car, or rally car. but basically the feeling I"m getting is that it's best to just get the rev-limiter and settle for the flames and not the quick spool.
