Advanced Timing Anyone done it??

I saw this auction on ebay for Advancing Timing add 20 HP. I was like what the hell is that. So I looked around and I got a buddy who can do it. Has anyone done this to their 240 and if so how did it work out? Is it worth it, did it screw anything up? thanks

what kind of part/timing are you talking about?  I can't imagine those gains on igniiton timing, maybe an adjustable cam sprocket, but 20 still sounds like alot.

Umm don't belive everything you read/hear?  

Advancing the timing basically means to adjust the timing to the higher end of the specified range. &nbsp;It's part of tuning a car, but it's not going to give you 20hp. &nbsp;Maybe 2 or 3hp... make the car smoother.... but not 20hp. &nbsp;It all really depeneds on how out of tune your timing is. &nbsp;I suppose if you were WAY WAY out of tune it might gain you double digit hp, but that's not what 99.999% &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'> of us are dealing with.
