Yea. I cant get that out so the control arm just sits there.

Hammer the top or get a pickle fork.

Yeah, if you're gonna replace it, hammer it out. Use a pickle fork as well as some WD40 and SOME HEAT if you can't hammer it out. A handheld propane torch works wonders.

There is a ball bearing removal tool... probably what AJ called the pickle fork.

It slides under the ball and wedges it off. (with the help of a hammer)

Got one of these at the local Princess Auto up here in Canada for about 25 bux.

It works wonders. I think your version of Princess Auto down there is Harbor Freight or something.

Sure enough. The tool in the upper right hand corner is the EXACT same one that I got. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92882

Their site doesn't list it seperately but who knows.

really just keep banging it with a hammer any size would do, just keep hammering it lightly/hard on the bottom of the control arm and the upright, it really just takes the right hit to get it out. if you want to do it faster, use two hammers, just keep hitting it, you just want it to break loose, dont hit the bolt.

Princess auto. I LOVE that name. haha.

Shoot the joint with pb blaster.

Then hammer the knuckle on the side.

After you do that, scew the nut to the top. And hammer the nut.

That way you don't damage the threads.

Don't use a pickle fork unless you plan on switching out the ball joint. I'm not a big fan on pickle forks.

If you do need to use a tool, use a gear remover.

He's replacing the Control arm and by that pic I hope he's replacing that ball joint. Pickle fork FTW!
