I searched with no direct luck. I am debating on trading my hatch for a CA that needs a new turbo. I have been reading on turbos and decided I want to go with a Holset HX35/HX40 turbo and push 10-12psi making 300ish hp. Reason for pushing as much is the turbo blow's ass without being 12+psi. Now my question is:

How much HP wise would you try and push on the old Dinosaur motors being stock block and head? My goal is 300hp. As the car sits right now it has the following:

450cc DSM injectors (Soon to be 550cc's! Thanks Evan!)

Greddy o2 housing

Blitz DP

Blitz Dual BOV

Blitz Front Mount

Boost Controller

AEM Intake

Walboro Pump

Any help or links would be great. Thanks. *a

ive personally seen these motors go over 300 w/ just aftermarket turbo, fuel and ecu tuning... 300-350 is not hard on stock head/block w/ a good tune... good luck

any more than that i'd be trying to build it up for my own piece of mind... the most ive ever seen a stock block/HG hold on a ca is 400ish (that was w/ cams and head work tho)

Dinosaur motors? Do you call redtop SR's dinosaurs too?

Anyways, it mainly depends on how safe the tune is, but you probably wont be pushing much more than 300whp without breaking stuff

8ggalant is correct.

You should be able to reach 300 and be reliable.

vrooompssssht: Hell yeah the ca18 is a dino motor. As is the rb20. Don't get butthurt.

I am going to use MSD BTM, N60 Maf and SAFC until I can pick up Power FC. Sound like a good setup? *a
