ok guys im sure yall have heard of vq30de and vq35de swaps in to 240's. So i was wondering if the 300zx engine (vq30de, vq30dett) will fit in to a 240 and if any body knows what you need for the swap, or any site that could help me out.
thanks.

I know its been done. I remember seeing a really clean swap into an s13. I believe he did ALOT of custom fabrication though. Ill look around the web and see if i can find it again.

ok after a little reseach i have found the vg30dett is the 300zx engine and the vq30dett is an engine used in 2003 Skyline GT-R JGTC race cars, 2004 Fairlady Z JGTC race cars, 2005 Fairlady Z Super GT race cars, 2006 Fairlady Z Super GT race cars. So the link i gave you should be what your looking for.

you're getting engines mixed up. go to engineswaptech.com. You could have searched, cause someone asked the same question like a week ago. By the way, you don't want a VG in your car, you want a VQ.

The VG's a good motor but the VQ is clearly the way of the future for Nissan and has proven itself a superior engine with 13 years now on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list. Like Turbo711 said, come on over to www.engineswaptech.com when you get a chance and join the growing number of use who are mixing a little VQ in with our S.

VG is a heavy pig motor. You can also build a VQ to handle more power. People are claiming vq35's will be able to produce more power then 2jz's. Sounds expensive.

Might as well just go with an aluminum ls1 in there if you want to get that heavy ass engine!, its very tall and wide so you have to do extensive modification. I think that the LS1 weighs pretty close to what a vg30 does.

well no sense in bothering going there. I think that most people were pointing out the superiority of the VQ over the VG(not talking about the LS1). Now granted the LS1 lovers will come in and start going off like you. The point here is a Nissan engine in a Nissan car and the VQ is a lightweight exceptional V6.

P.S. I think the original thread starter got mixed up and really was thinking about the VQ but I could be wrong.

I got this from someone's signature.
"KA is a truck motor, maby I'll get a VG wait that;s a truck motor too. Hey I got it I'll get a VQ, but thats another step back it's a minivan motor Crap!"

If your trying to dis the VQ that just shows your lack of Knowledge about it. IF your trying to be funny it was kinda weaksauce. Nissan has stuck all their engines in all their vehicles across the board for the history of the company.
The only one they did not do that with was the RB26DETT which was a single purpose factory race engine. Do not fool yourself the VQ is the future at Nismo and is not to be sneezed at. I own a RB I like RB's but you know what? I don't get into something and shun progress.
