alright well i just did a 95 ka24de swap into my fastback. everything is plugged in the car starts, but when i start it, it dumps ALOt of oil i just put in 4 quarts of oil and 1 or 1 1/2 of the oil got dumped out..The leak is coming from the same side as the oil filter from the look of things it looks like its coming from above the oil filter area but around the same area. Theres no hole in the block and the oil filter housing gasket is fine. Anyone know where else i should look???? this is starting to irk the shit out of me...PLEASE help!!!!

My guess is when you took off the old filter, that rubber gasket got caught, and now you have 2 gaskets and its leaking... happened to a buddy of mine before. Just take your filter off to check and make sure the surface on the block is clean.

yeah i did that. the area was clean before i put on a new gasket. but its not the actual oil filter gasket its the housing part that the oil filter screws onto. i changed that gasket and it still dumps oil. ALOT of oil.

well before i swapped the motor i checked for any cracks or holes i didnt see anything..but im not ruling that out. i'm just trying decypher any other possible problems.. if all else fails im probably come to the cracked block conclusion.. thanks

Clean the engine up at look to see where it is comming from. That is really all you can do. It has to be quite a major leak though if it dumps that much oil out so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

yeah, i've come to the conclusion that im going to pull the motor back out since the swap isnt that hard. I'm gonna clean it and inspect...thanks

maybe you should put the oil switch where it belongs and not forget to screw it in next time
