I saw the post on 240sx.org faq about changing the S14 intake cam to the altima cam and getting a '93 exhaust cam. Does anybody have any actual experience with this? It seems a little too good to be true and if it actually does work, why aren't more people doing so? Here's what the post says:

"I have been tipped off that you can take the cams from the Altima KA and put them in the 240 KA. The duration is longer on the Altima cams than the 240. An easy 22Hp gain with direct bolt on. Find a wrecked Altima to get them from.

Sorry guys if I was miss leading before, Take the Intake cam from a Altima which is 248 Degrees and a exhaust cam from a 93 240SX which is 248 Degrees and replace the cams of the 95-96 240Sx SE wich are 232 degrees. This can be done with no more mods depending on the milage of your motor."

Thanks in advance for your help on this.

it's absoultly bogus!  the 93 exhaust cam is crap, 'cause i have a 93, the best set up i've heard of is 91 exhaust cam for both intake and exhaust...

and i happen to have a 91 exhaust cam for sale <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

What the deal here is for S-14s. &nbsp; Our intake\exhaust cams don't have as much lift and duration as the older 240s even though we generate about the same horsepower, which is due to design differences. &nbsp; Some S14s owners have put in older Altima(96?) intake cams with 93 s13 exhaust cams to get a slightly increased performance. &nbsp; Its been done successfully and i've heard some people have done it easily, but for the work and getting a used part, most people have gone to route of getting performance cams instead...

your not gonna get anywhere near 22hp with an intake cam. &nbsp;maybe 10-15 with a set of fairly wild cams, but not just one cam. &nbsp;I'm sure it will require some re-shimming if it will work at all. &nbsp;I've never heard of this being done by anyone that I could actually believe.

Also - According to the FSM's &nbsp;91-93 have the SAME cams.
