I recently purchase a S14 with auto to manual swap. I am new to S13 and
S14. I have been "ol school" for a while. Currently it has a supposely S13 manual tranny crossmember and it is not fitting properly, seem like it is shifted 1" towards the rear. I was told to get a manual S14 tranny crossmember to work, but they are hard to come by. Someone has one for sale and he claim that S13, S14 and even the auto tranny have the same crossmember. I am lost now which one to get? Has anyone run into this problem? Which one to get? Are they the same?

Thanks in advance!!

Manual and auto are NOT the same. A new one is only about $55, way easier than trying to find the white buffalo.

Make sure you have the correct motor mounts on the correct side.

89-98 240SX manual tranny x-brace is the same.

Thank you all for the replies. That gives me an idea what to do. Since new is only $55, I would go for that. Can I order them at places like Autozone, etc or it is a dealer item?

If 89-98 240sx manual x-brace are the same, I may be able to get it sooner from the yard. Thank you for the confirmation.

So far the S14 is doing better than my 76 280Z at the auto-x. But then again it has better brakes and suspension. Bushings are in better shape than the Z. Body is more solid than the Z too. Power and weight ratio wise, Z is better since it has a I-6 and lighter. Overall, I am happy with the S14 handling.

Thanks and have fun.
