Im confused as to whether or not my 95 s14 is obd 1 or 2. I looked at the fsm I have on my computer, and it said something about a scanner thats obd2specific, and that you hook it up to a port in the glove box. So I was thinking great, that's where I'll go look. So I go to my car, open the box, and I see nothing. However when I looked under the dash, passnger side... just to the right of the console I see this white port with these square holes in it.

But Im wondering why its there and if its for obd. Anyone else like this? I also did a search for "obd" on here but no answers.

Thanks to anyone who can clear this up.

Port under the glovebox= OBD-I.
Port beside the hood release cable= OBD-II.

Besides, all 1995 models are OBD-I.

And we have a search function that does wonder if you use it.

Thanks for the input, but like I already said I did search. I saw about obd1 but not 2.

Reason I even asked is because what I expected to be the port, was not in either place. I mean it might not even be for obd, its just something I happen to find while looking for it.

Thanks

there is a scaner port on 95 s14 even though they are not OBDII... like russ said, its UNDER the glove box. I use a OBDII scanner to pull/clear codes

All 240s have diagnostic ports for Nissan Consult. OBDI and OBDII are sets of emission guidelines set by the US that cars are subjected to depending on their year of make.

Again, it's under the glovebox, not in it. Where ever you read that, it's wrong.

open the damn hood their should be a sticker stating something along the lines of "This vehicle corresponds to government OBDI or OBD II standards" yada yada.
