Colilovers?

ok i need to know the ups and downs of the diff models .. i want performance. btu i want it to ride fairly well. meaning i want height and sensitivity adjustablity. ( no i don't want tein's type flex.. too expensive) so here's my next goal.. can't be too expensive  i'm lookgi for now more than $1400?..i'd even be willing to buy em used if i could get em under a $1K

Know that you will never get a stock ride-like-comfort with performance-orientated coilovers; you'll have to decide which you value more; the performance or the comfort.
Tein Type Flex's are not very expensive at all, and you should be able to pick them up WITH EDFC for around 1400 - 1600 easily.

If you're serious about quality and performance, look no further than Zeal Function series, HKS Hipermax series, Cusco zero/comp series, Gab Revolution, etc.
JIC (and tein) aren't known for their outstanding suspension, unless you get the high-tier teins (read: expen$ive) such as the type HTs, RAs etc.

How good are those HA's?

i got my tanabe sustec pro ss coilovers that have 4 way dampening adjustability in the front and 8 in the rear for 1300...i find that they provide a comfortable ride, no where near stock though, as long as the dampening level is not on the stiffest

It depends on what you're looking for in coilovers. The HAs will provide a good step up in handling over stock, but are not necessarily "quality" pieces like the Zeal, Cusco and HKS units. They have adjustable dampening and ride height, but don't come with PBMs and are not constructed as well as more expensive models. They aren't much better than an adjustable shock and adjustable coil-spring set up, but will offer a good handling improvement.
If you're looking for something for any track use, I'd go a step up and get something like the Tein RAs (I think that's what they were) or something similar. &nbsp;
In general, you'll get what you pay for, and considering Tein HAs can be had for 1,000 (if you search long and hard enough) you should expect the according.
