Warm up.

With the motor running remove the oil filter.

at 1000rpm it should take about 30 seconds before oil stops coming out.

longer than that and the pressure is tool low, faster than that and its too high.

at least thats how the FSM says to do it, the gauge works too if you have the money.

You can check the oil pressure at idle and at about 3000rpm. I personally take the oil filter off with the engine stopped and then start the engine and rev it. It's not quite as messy.

the gauge is a good thing to have anyway if you have alittle $ to spend.
The way they are describing probably works as well.

Why do you need to know? If your pressure light is coming on when driving or flashing while driving you may be in a big hole. If it comes on every now and then when under 1k rpm or so, your oil pump is probably going bad, and if thats the case you need to fix it FAST.

I hope no one actually does this.......

Well we will find out when there is a new thread made regarding engine being siezed. There are so many threads that explain how to check oil pressure and what the specs should be, someone should delete this thread.

Yeah, its not nessicary to check it, but its good to know that your oil pressure is on par, and the FSM says that the only way to do it is the way I described.
