View Full Version : car started!! but odd problems...help quick im losing faith

so i finnaly got my car working today yay...only to run into more problems
1993 240sx se
s13 sr20det

just fyi...

so i can get the car to start it wont really idel and i have to hold the throttle down to keep it going....it will boost and push 7psi but wont run more then 2500rpm give or take...its sluggish and what not

i dont know how much it matters but it was leeking oil i know where i just have to fix it so its just a matter of time but i just thought i better throw it all out there incase anything is related....

what maf are you using? I know that happened when my stock sr maf was bad! if so try getting a sohc ka maf with the pig tail and try it, or just spend the money for a z32 maf w/pigtail, you'll need it eventually!

i have a z32 with a retuned ecu for it...if i have to redo my timing for the 4th fucking time i guess ill have to...lol but yeah

2500 = MAF. unplug your maf while the car is running and if the idle smooths out and sounds different...

when your maf is unplugged or broken you cant rev past 2500rpms.

yea plus how positive are you about the tune for that maf....i use a safc to set mine and it runs fine....but also b4 the maf was tuned it did all wacked out shit like that.

i think its only firing on 2 cyl.. no 1 and i the next one down i dont know if its no 2 or not im not shure on the firing order but yeah only on the first 2 cyl only 2 parts of the meghan manidold started to change with the heat...

Make sure you MAF is wired right. If you mixed up the wires it will not idle and will not rev past 2500. The wires are very easy to mix up. Good luck.
