Damn....I would kick your friend in the balls....

Call up a vendor for the light and see if you can't order the lock cylinder with keys seperate.

You cant use the stock hatch lock with the kuki lights anyways so thats out.

He should have given you a key with the lights as when you buy the lights, the lock cylinder is different from your car and thats the only way (other than the trunk release, which is conveniently broken) you can open it.

Call your friend up and tell him to give you the key. NOW!

Fold down the rear seats and remove the trunk trim until you can see the back of the lock cylinder, like so. Pardon the surface rust.

What you need to do is pull the actuator lever off of the lock cylinder, if it was on there to begin with. If you the lever is still on the lock cylinder, the lever won't move because the cylinder holds it in place and won't let it move without the key.

Once the lever is free, simply pull it to release the catch that holds the hatch down. The hatch should be able to open.

take a dremel to a spare key (or get a new long key cut) so that your keyhead doesn't hit the taillamp panel.

Call a locksmith. He'll fix everything.

Damn, after reading this thread, it is sad, but funny at the same time.

I feel for you man.

But wouldn't it be crazy if the locksmith came over and accidently crashed into your car...

Just follow Kevin and Barry's advice.
