for the guys who know about the offset combinations. do the coupe and the hatch have the same offset. Its really a comparision between the silvia and 180sx. but if i am correct the coupe would be set up the same as the silvia. and then the hatch the same as the 180sx. some insight wud be greatly appreciated. also what offset in the rear would you recommend on the silvia. the silvia is a s13 chassis. and the suspension is a cusco coilover setup.

well 1st of all they are all the same offset. if u wanna sit flush on 15s like +-0 flush on 16s about +-15 im not really sure but that should be close.

up front? if you have popups then run a +10 on a 9 inch wide front

the rears can take a +15 9.5 easy and a +10 rear with a 10inch wide bairly fits.

Now if you are doing silvia front end then you would have more space in the front as most aftermarket fenders for the car give you about 20mm more space up front.

throw us a wheel size you want and we can further tune to your offset... I like starting out with the following 17x8.5 +22 front and 17x9.5 +17 rear

he had a +35 offset wheels 18x7.5 front and 18x9.5 in the rear on his silvia the wheels poked out alot. but when he put them on a 180sx they sat in the fender well jus fine. so he was thinkin about 17's now which offset do you recommend.

this is the wheels that poked out on the silvia.

I'm running 15x8 with 0 offset with 205/55/r15 tires. Camber is -3.5 front -1.5 rear. They required a fender roll all 4 corners but the roll didn't push the body work out. Inside is totally folded over but you can't tell from the outside. Hope this helps

offset combination with 17's or 18's would be nice. coupe style.

You need to tell us what width wheel you want to get first before you figure out any type of offset numbers.
Wheel diameter has nothing to do with offset at all its the width that correlates the offset.
For example a +12 on a 9" wide wheel is not the same as a +12 on a 10"wide wheel.
I am assuming your friend has a stock body coupe then? metal nissan fenders not fiberglass ones with vents in them?

Well said. Diameter is secondary to width/offset. Just because you put 17x7 with 40mm offset on a s13 doesn't mean they are going to look good unless your going for that stock fender/wheel gap look.

7.5 in the front and either a 9 inch wide or 9.5 in the rear. its actually a silvia and no i dont mean a coupe with a sil front. the real deal. stock fenders

Why so much wider in the rear? Your going to set up for more understeer in a chassis already known for understeer. Drag car maybe?

he is not the drifter type he tends to drag more yes. me personally i am on 8's in the rear because i like to slide alot and all that good stuff. plus the car has alot of upgrades and he wants to keep some of that power on the rd.

who cares if it's a real silvia? we don't.... As long as you have stock fenders, then wheel sizing will be the same as all stock fendered S13's....coupe, hatchback, 180sx, etc...

Just keep in mind that many offsets/widths and tire combos are gonna require fender rolling and many people on here stretch tires. If thats not something you want to do then you might want to go more conservative with your offsets. Also, if you or your friend or whatever is into drag racing checout drag240sx.com

i understand the stretching and so forth but which offset will work on this car with a 9.5 in the rear and 7.5 in the front. stretchin is not an issue. jus the right offset thanks.

i know this topic had been covered to hell before.. but just opinions on this..
17x9's + 20 all around.. s13 hatch.. 225/45 or 225/40 tires.. (not sure yet)

will also get the fenders pulled/rolled as far as possible as i may need to run a wider tire in the rear later on.. this is on HE's, to cover all of the fendergap.. i.e. finder right above the tire..

225/40's and you might need a small spacer up front depending on how low you are. HE's have crappy clearence. IIRC Dousan was running 17x9 +15 with a 215/40 and needed a 3mm spacer to clear but used a 5mm.

OT: 7.5" +10 with a 205, 9.5" +25 with a 225 that should fit with a roll only

this is where i am puzzled my boy on his 180 right he has a 18x9.5 +35 offset on 245/35/r18's in the rear and he has no problems. my other boy puts the same rims on his silvia and they stick out. but yet i am told they have the same offset. are the fenders wider or sumtin.

Camber. Rolled fenders. There's a ton of contributing factors. If 9.5 +35 sticks out, give yourself a little more camber. Roll your fenders. There's a million ways. Think. Do. Experiment. Search. Then post.
