Aluminum driveshaft

Is anyone here running an aluminum driveshaft from "driveshaftshop.com"? I converted my car over to manual, and i need a driveshaft. So i figure why go with the crappy two piece. I was reading on NICO that alot of users get vibrations 60+ MPH. Any users on here experience the same problems. Should i pick one of these babies up or not...

vibration/humming/etc on a one piece isn't too surprising. "crappy" two piece driveshafts are used because they self-damper. the natural frequency of the two seperate shafts will invariably be different, so they will tend to cancel each other out.

that being said, alot of cars come stock with one piece driveshafts. if you do get one, just be prepared to live with any possible noise/vibration.

no that was a typo. that is not happening on nico, but that is what worries me. i can care less about the vibrations, im just worried for the car. They should be being balanced properly... who sells a driveshaft that is not balanced..

they also make another kind but i forgot which material it is, but it's cheaper and about 2lbs heavier so it wouldnt be too much of a difference in power if thats what ur looking for.

I run a DSS aluminum. No vibrations, no real issues. You just have to remove the metal collar from the rear of the tranny.

It's a fine unit, but you won't notice any gains. If you aren't going to exceed the limits of the stock shaft, I'd just get one off car-part/locally and spend your money elsewhere. I only got mine for my manual swap cause I was too lazy to go find one in a junkyard.

The tranny and the diff are rubber mounted. I could understand hearing a driveshaft whine but not feeling vibrations from it. I would think that they have other problems.

I have the one piece aluminium DS and I do hear a little
more whine but it is barely noticable. Upgrade to a one piece even if it
is the steel version.

My bros running one on his s13 and NO there is no vibration problems etc... it feels juss like stock cant really tell a diffrence with the aluminum vs stock but it doesn't lag when you punch it in 4th or 5th on the freeway!

no lag, no vibration, better drivetrain feel on my S14...awesome quality product.

either go two piece crap or beefy jointed one piece aluminum ftw!!!
