i used a resistor for my egr crap so i don't throw a cel

my dad's 90 toyota camry with 367k (original running motor, runs damn good for it's miles) has an egr CEL supposedly

seems like it since the smog station said so and what not, and when he drives around w/the a.c. on sometimes it goes away and comes back on later (on our 240's i know the egr or ecu checks the egr temp occasionally) but he passes alright, it's just he doesn't pass the system malfunction light whatever, tha'ts the only part he failed, just looking for a quick fix

so i'm wondering if it's the same 100 k ohm 1/4 watt resistor that i could use , or how could i check what kind/type of resistor to use?

Look in the FSM under the EGR section...you'l find a way to test it, and the resistance values specified.

IIRC, it's a 10k ohm resistor (1/4 watt is fine).
