Hey, I was just wondering if any one had this problem.I just got my 17x9 +17 offset mb weapons with 235/40/17 nitto 450 extreme performance tires on my s14 i have megan racing street coilovers had them full stiff before i put the new wheels on and when i put them on it kinda made the back feel soft and moshie like the back was turning i also have ruca I adjusted them so the rear wheels dont have any camber they look like they are sitting flaton the pavement, the front are like negative 5 maybe i cant remember. any suggestions let me know thanks.

you gotta be kidding.

bigger wheel + bigger tire = more grip
more grip = more suspension movement

that might explain your "soft" feeling.

first off.. dont think you have -5 camber in the front unless you modified something... if you did a do it yourself alignment might be a reason why your car feels like a boat... so go to a alignment shop and get a full alignment

also... megan streets on full stiff, even though they are 8/6, cant even compare to some other coilovers out there on full soft.

Go get an allignment and check back... i think you'll be happier.

yea im gonna get a allignment problem is finding someone to do it thanks I thonght it had something to do with that. as far as the tire size i ran on stock they were 245/50/16 so i was thinking putting on bigger wheel with smaller tire would make the suspension seem stiffer. I bet its the alignment and since i was using 300zx tt staggered wheels i had to use a 20mm spacer to clear the coilovers.... main reason for gettting wheels.

MB Weapons aren't that heavy, the website claims 20.5 lbs but people who actually weighed said they're in the 19 lb range. Not super light, but not nasty heavy for a 17x9. I have a set in the same size with 245/40 Kumho MX and it feels great, nicely weighted steering feel and performs great on the track. Get a real alignment, your "eyeballin' it" alignment sucks balls. And 5* camber in front would be super extreme, you need to read up on alignment specs for these cars.

my wheels with 235/40/17 nitto 450 weighed 45 lbs hahaha and i dont know what my camber is to tell u the truth b/c my car is at home i just know my front wheels have camber.

i took off my ruca and that fixed it just ordered some rear torsion bars/traction rods because when i took out the camber on the rear it toed my wheels in causing the boat feeling

like i said... do it yourself alignment does not work very well..

-5 camber? Wow, that's pointless.

The reason your back feels soft is that your alignment is horribly off.

More than likely you have positive camber in the rear now, and that's what's making your car skittish.

I agree 1000%

search for my comparison Megan Racing coilovers Vs Apex'i ExV N1 coilovers

many were lead to believe the were the same...:nono:

My alignment by eye is pretty good. It goes straight and feel nice. Tire wear isnt bad. IT wear out evenly too.

I will get a real aligment when I get new tires. Buying used tires and wheels = eye balling alignment cuz I straight dont care.

miraculously, when my car was stock it needed an alignment; pulled to the right. after i put my coils on, it goes straight for dayssss
