problem with no power at all.. bat prob?

ok, i just threw my battery in the trunk. I basicly took a 15' 1 gauge wire and connected to where the battery would have connected and ran it through the firewall to my hatch trunk. As far as the negative side, I grounded it to the metal bottom of the trunk. I started up the car and it sounded like something clicked then all of a sudden i had no power. What could be the problem? I checked al lthe fuses on the driver side kick panel and r all good but i dont see how any of them could affect this. Could the battery be damaged? Could bad ground cause this?

Could be a bad connection or ground. Check to make sure they are attached solidly.

I dont think the battery would be bad if it worked fine before unless it got shorted out along the way.
