I started to up the boost today on my profec b 2, i set low at 10 psi and high at 13 psi, i did a few pulls to redline, like 10. after 20 minutes of driving, the car would hesitate more and more as i reved to redline, now it wont rev past 4500~4600 from 3rd to 5th and 2nd will rev to like ~5300. 1st will rev almost all the way to 6500 which is where i stop revin it. When it stops revin higher, it pops and studders badly. I pulled the 1st spark plug and it was very black. Is it running very rich? Think i have a boostleak?I tried to check for codes on my car but I have no LED on my ecu. Is there any other way to check for codes or do i have to take it to some1 and have them put a LED in it and where does it go if i have to get this done. Also, what is the largest turbo that is basically bolt on? Is it a GT2871r? THanks all.

your engine could be knocking like crazy and causing itself to retard the timing

My safc2 shows no knock on my runs, maybe as high as 10 knock after these runs at idle but once i start to boost, the knock goes to 0.

UPDATE: found a large rip in the coupler between the turbo outlet and the hotpipe, going to replace it now and see how the car acts.

yeh, this is what was wrong with my car. i got the swap done about 2 weeks ago, and then the car started to feel slower. i thought i was getting use to the extra power but i guess the coupler was ripping more and more. Feels like a whole new car now. XxChurroxX , do a boost leak test. this might help for something not as obvious as a big ripped coupler like mine.

well it turns out that not having the correct gapping between spark plugs will give u the same indications...in my case, too much gap. apparently under high load, it will not cause a spark. problem solved =)
