i plan on rebuilding my blacktop motor. what are my options considering i do not have much to spend on pistons/rods. from what motor(SE-R, 300zx. etc) can parts be used? the help is greatly appreciated. thanks

ps. yes i searched!

I would reckon that any SR20DE pistons would work.
I suppose if the Z32 pistons are the right bore diameter, height, have the wristpin holes in the same spots, and roughly the same ring lands, you could use those too.

edit- 2 minutes making love to Google, and it gave birth to this: http://www.optionimports.com/oemnisrpikit.html

300zx turbo pistons are 87mm bore and should yield ~9:1 CR in the SR. you will have to overbore your engine, they are relatively cheap and are made the same as stock sr pistons. you will have to grind your rod ends for the piston to have enough side to side clearance or mill out a little on both sides of the underside of the piston where the wrist pin goes through.

just use stock sr pistons.

can parts be used?

Why would you use used parts when rebuilding an engine? There are already used parts in the engine you are rebuilding...
