RSR exhaust

Im looking at an exhaust not sure if its an exmag but, muffler is oval and all is black but tip. Just like the ex-mag. Only thing is this one has a resonator on the system, and when I go to rsr's site, the one they show for s14 doesn't.

For the time being Im na ka, but would like to go 3" if not too loud to get pulled over. Some say that the ex mag is still loud, but Im starting to wonder if those people have one with out the resonator, which I assume would make a difference. Don't plan on getting a header btw.

So I im trying to figure out what rsr it might be.

no resonater on rsr exmag for s14 or s14. and on NA, it will be loud. Very good exhaust system though. If i had the money id buy the 80mm :]

So it should help if it has a resonator? Wasn't there like one with "special in the name or something"? Having to do with orido maybe? Did it have a resonator?

not sure bout that, sorry..resonater should help with noise, but rsr didnt use a resonator cus of performance and the actual sound they were trying to get, from what i understand. Exhaust performance depends on how the exhaust flows through the piping and its my understanding that a resonator would hinder exhaust flow.

I have an RS*R ExMag on a redtop SR20DET. It's the most subdued aftermarket exhaust I could find. The only other option is OEM.

The canister is oval and all the piping is black except for the tip. You can see pictures of it here: http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/september04/240sr/

Just make sure it's not an ExMag GTII. Those are loud as hell.

yeah I bought an ExMag GTII(80mm) and yes it is loud as hell... i have yet to get pulled over yet but then again i play it safe around the local law enforcement. I had it on my na ka before i switched to the SR but it has a nice deep solid tone. If i could buy another exhaust for my SR i'd pry try the blitz NUR spec or a JIC magic exhaust.

you would never get away with the gt2 here in socal. exmag is another story though...and on SRs they sound sooooo good. I hear the Blitz Realize TT sounds awesome too, not too loud but keeps performance in mind.

i have an ex-mag on my na ka it sounds really nice but its really loud.. i live n cali and no problems yet.. i love it

OKay tell me what I just won, and tell me if it should be really loud even if I don't add a header too it. Just plan on having this exhaust, and nothing else exhaust related for now. What am I in for lol? Also is this the rsr exmag, cause notice this one has a resonator

does it say rsr on the chrome tip? it looks like an exmag but i dont think the exmag has a resonator....naaah that aint an exmag.

Hmm see I'm not sure. Okay you see that sticker in first pic, read the third line I think, and you'll see rsr.

RSR is also engraved on this plate on the muffler itself.

You guys think since this one has a resonator it qill be quieter on my NA s14 than an exmag with no resonator...considering exmag is suppose to be not loud as some 3" on a na ka?

Really like to figure this out lol. Think its some discontinued model. Whats the "special" sticker all about

This person states they have an orido/invidia rsr for s14 for sale. Looks almost like one I won, all except th black coating. But notice the stickers and resonator it also has.

Can't find any info on orido ones.

Hmm okay see if you guys wanna take a wild guess at this. Considering it looks similar to exmag as far as the mufflers go, do you think mine will be quieter since it has resonator. Also do you think the gearing of my automatic will keep noise down too. Im a VA guy, and I know how cops can be.

maybe its an rsr exmag with resonator welded on it by a custom exhaust shop

LOL I thought but I assume its orido related. Like I said I posted link above with another orido special for sale, and it has resonator too. So I'm thinking no on being a custom job, and the fact that it probably was made with it.

What it is doesn't make to much of a diff to me lol. If its rare or not Im cool either way. Just wondering about loudness. I know you'll prolly say that I should have known what I was getting into when I got 3" but this had a resonator so I took a chance. Plus all signs pointed to 3" for me so I said what the heck.
