I was wiping down my engine bay a few days ago after a short drive and notices some electrical noises. Now when I turn the key to the acc. position I don't hear the fuel pump (Walbro) engaging when I usually do.
My first thought was to make sure the fuel pump didn't go out so I checked it by putting direct power to it and came on. So I unraveled the wires and seperated everything so I can get a good look and idn't see anything wrong. So I went to the ECU and noticed that it smelled a little, I took it a part and noticed that a strand on the ribbon cable was brown so I did a search here and found that someone had the same problem with the same ribbon cable so I soldered a cable directly and it still didn't work. I''m almost positive that the problem lies with the ECU but is the ribbon cable suppose to have that darker connection like the other guy? Did I miss something?
