I'm having some problems figuring out what bearings I need to be ordering. I got the numbers off the block and crank.

Here is what I got:
Block:
F11211
Crank:
12111
1111

I measured the crank as well. This is what I got (in mm):
crank/main:
54.93-54.93-54.93-54.92-54.93
con rod:
47.96-47.99-47.95-47.94
These measurements were with a handheld micrometer, so they could be a little bit off.

I will be using Eagle rods...

What bearing grades do I need? I keep reading over this FSM, but the picture labels are confusing me when comparing to the bearing grade tables...

Any help?

Thanks!

why don't you remeasure the 47.99 journal and the 47.94 journal. it's a .002" difference between them which is huge. Might end up having to grind the crank to a size. you should also inspect the eagle big end diameter. The ocasionally show up tight and require a little remachining.

Ok, I got my stuff back from the machine shop the other day. I knew my main journals were slightly out of round, but the guy went ahead and machined them without even asking me first. He machined them to the same spec across the crank. If this causes me problems he will be buying me a new one (or probably engine since I don't think sr20det cranks are easy to find)... He machined the rods and journals as well...

Rod Bore - 2.0085
Rod Journals - 1.8802
Main Journals - 2.1541

Can anyone help me with bearings with these proper measurements?

Thanks

If he machined your main journals, then the block may need a line bore with the caps in place, not 100% sure though. Since your using aftermarket rods, im not sure on bearing grades.

When I rebuilt my CA with stock rods and pistons, I took numbers of the block, and crank, and you add them together to get respective main grades. there are 5 numbers on the block, 5 on the crank. The numbers on my crank were a series of ones (roman) and made it a bit confusing at first. As for the rod throws, they were undersized 10 thou (.25mm) and I ordered 10 thou oversized rod bearings.

Not sure if this helped, It took me a while to figure out what grades I needed.

What were the mains machined down? 10 thou/20 thou/30 thou.....usually go in increments like that.

oh, and the 1111 on your crank...under the 12111. Those are your rod bearing grades.

I spun a rod bearing in my redtop sr20det that thing was running fine it had plenty of oil stock boost just your average bolt ons intercooler exhaust just got my manifold 2 days after it happened so that will collect dust for a while
Does the sr have a aluminum or steel crank and would it be alright if i just put a bearing in it.

i don't think any car has a aluminum crank..
